Employee Assistance Program

An EAP is a confidential, short term counselling service for employees with personal problems that can affect their work performance.  Issues typically managed by an EAP provider include:

  • Personal situations
  • Job stress
  • Relationship Issues
  • Eldercare, childcare, parenting Issues
  • Harassment
  • Substance Abuse
  • Separation and loss
  • Balancing work and family
  • Financial or legal
  • Family Violence

EAP Services are available to members including indeterminate, term, seasonal and students as well as their dependents. Recruits enrolled in the Officer Induction Training Program.  Retirees and those whose employment has ended (up to 3 months)

There is no fee for services provided. Confidentiality is paramount.  The employer and the union share a common concern for the well-being of employees. Both encourage the use of this service to all that are experiencing difficult personal or work related situations.
